Finally! We have launched our FAVOURITE ALMOND FLOUR BAKING MIXES!

Hello All,

We are thrilled to announce that OUR FAVOURITE ALMOND FLOUR BAKING MIXES are now available!  These products took us a while to develop but we believe, as the saying goes, anything worth doing, is worth doing well. And well, with these, we think we've really done well!  We recently sampled our baking mixes at the Canadian Health Food Association show in Toronto and the response was more than we could have hope for.

First a little history.  These mixes were developed for YOU.  Yes, YOU!  For years you, our customers, have been asking us to ship our delicious muffins to you.  But we can't - at least not if you live outside Ontario and Quebec.  Our muffins have no preservatives so they have a very short shelf-life and have to stored in the freezer.  For that reason, we can only ship them to places within a 1 day shipping window from our Toronto factory.  But we realized that just wasn't fair.  So out of this dilemma came the inspiration for our baking mixes.  Just like the muffins we make in our GF - JKG kitchen, OUR FAVOURITE ALMOND FLOUR MUFFIN MIX has no preservatives, and no artificial anything; just the goodness of almond flour and the sweetness of organic unrefined coconut nectar. You get to add your own banana, chocolate chips, blueberries - whatever your heart desires to make these YOUR FAVOURITE!  And the same goes for our COOKIE MIX, PIE & TART CRUST MIX, and OUR PANCAKE & WAFFLE MIX.  They are all natural, all simple, and all FABULOUS!  Personally, I adore OUR FAVOURITE PIE & TART CRUST MIX.  With it, I make my famous Apple Galette with Caramel Sauce (see recipe below.) The crust is light and the perfect combination of moist and crumbly - when this is dessert, there are never any left-overs!  our COOKIE MIX is a favourite of everyone...especially when you make them with chocolate chips. Fresh out of the oven or cooled down (if you can hold off!), they rival any cookie any of our tasters (and we've had a TON of them) have ever had!  I love our PANCAKE & WAFFLE MIX best with bananas or blueberries - they taste like pancakes and waffles - really, just like the real deal!

We've been getting a few e-mails and calls lately from people who are having trouble locating the recipes on our Baking Mix boxes.  The front English panel of each box opens like a book; there is a tab on the right-hand side that you use to lift the panel. We are so sorry if this is confusing - that was not our intention - with the French on the back panel, we just ran out of space and had to come up with a new place to put the recipe/instructions.. In all honesty, we thought (and still think!) that it was fabulous, original, and totally cool...we just didn't count on it being a tad confusing. It will be better marked in the next print-run. 


Preheat oven to 350˚ F

1 Box of OUR FAVOURITE ALMOND FLOUR PIE & TART CRUST MIX - follow the instructions on the inside flap of the box to make 1 pie crust.

6-7 apples, peeled, core, and sliced

1 Tbsp butter

drizzle of honey

dash of cinnamon

  1. Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add the apples and  adribble of honey and cook until the apples soften.
  3. Add a dash of cinnamon, stir to distribute and remove from heat to cool.
  4. Once cooled, add to the centre of the pie crust that you have prepared and fold the dough up and around the apples as explained in OUR FAVOURITE ALMOND FLOUR PIE & TART CRUST MIX instructions.
  5. Bake in a 350˚ F oven for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Serve warm from the oven or cool and reheat in a low oven prior to serving. 
  7. Drizzle each serving with warmed caramel sauce (recipe follows).


1/2 cup honey

1/4 cup butter

1/4 cup 10% cream

  1. Bring honey to a boil in a small pot over high heat
  2. Boil for 3-4 minutes - don't let it boil over or burn.
  3. Lower heat to medium and add the butter and stir until melted.
  4. Carefully add the cream.  The mixture will bubble up.  
  5. Continue to stir until the mixture is slightly thickened and coats the back of a spoon.
  6. remove from the heat and let it cool down.  It will thicken as it cools.
  7. Store in the fridge and re-warm to thin and drizzle on the slices of Applle Galette.
